GoTrial

We offer students free trial lessons. In this guideline, you can check everything you need to consider. Trial lessons are a fantastic source for new students.

How to get a trial lesson and the most important information about it.

Before the Trial Lesson

The programme manager books you in for a request:

  • This booking is marked as a trial lesson in your lesson overview.
  • For more information about the trial lesson and the student, click on the information button on the lesson in your Dashboard.
  • You will also receive an SMS or Whatsapp message from the PM with more information where you will receive the most important information about the trial lesson and possibly some of the student’s recent school work or homework.
 
 

At the beginning of the trial lesson

Join the GoClass a few minutes before the lesson starts.

Inform the programme manager by SMS/WhatsApp if there is a problem (e.g. the student is more than 5 minutes late).

 
 

During the trial lesson

Introduce yourself (name, location, hobbies etc.) and get to know your student:

  • The trial lesson is to convince your new student of your ability as their online tutor.
  • Assess the student’s needs and show them what tutoring with you would look like.
 
 

At the end of the trial lesson

If all goes well, arrange a follow-up session verbally and inform the student that the programme manager will be in touch shortly.

  • Always refer the student to the programme manager for questions about the various memberships.
  • Give the student the perfect introduction; then the programme manager will take care of the rest.
 
 

Directly after the trial lesson

Complete the feedback in the Dashboard:

  • This can be done in the Dashboard by clicking on the feedback button after the lesson. - This is mandatory and should be done within 30 minutes after the end of the trial lesson, it doesn’t take long and it is really important!
  • You have to fill it in - only then will the earnings be credited if the customer takes out a membership with GoStudent!

Give feedback over SMS/WhatsApp directly to the programme manager: - Please make sure that your feedback is detailed and accurate. - It helps a lot for the follow-up phone call with the parents/student.

The parent/student makes a decision:

  • The programme manager will get in touch with the parent/student and answer any questions as well as put together the ideal membership for the student if they are interested.
  • You will be informed by SMS/Whatsapp of the outcome for the student.

Once the programme manager has set up the account, give your student a friendly greeting via GoChat and start communicating with them immediately:

  • The first follow-up booking is made by the programme manager.
  • From then on you are responsible for booking the following sessions.
 
 

Please note:

  • The trial lesson is free of charge for the student and serves to introduce them of your teaching style and online tutoring.
  • The programme manager takes care of the initial contact with the student, arranges and books the trial lesson and makes sure that the student gets the membership best suited to their needs.
  • As the trial lesson only takes place between the tutor and student, your assessment and feedback are crucial! Please be as detailed as possible.
